Experience the History of the Show
What started out as a small group of rock hounds and mineral collectors back in 1955 has grown into a large showcase of gems for enthusiasts and collectors from around the globe. You can find the best minerals, jewelry, gems,fossils and lapidary dealers from all over the world. Items from renowned museums and private collections are also on display.
The first exhibition took place at an elementary school in town and was open to the general public. It was an immediate hit, which is what prompted the organizers to make it a regular event. In 1956, the show was held at rodeo grounds. It stayed here until 1972. It eventually made its way to its current location where countless people can come out and enjoy it each year.

The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show 2017 is well-known for bringing in gems, fossil displays and minerals from major museums everywhere. Every year the show designates a theme mineral to generate interest. Because of the amount of interest generated, satellite shows ended up popping up everywhere.
